What is RESTYLANE?
RESTYLANE is a crystal-clear, non-animal, biodegradable gel based on a natural substance,
called hyaluronic acid. The gel is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a
very fine needle. The result is instantaneous and produces a long-lasting, natural
enhancement, gentle and safe to your skin.
What can I do to be sure to choose the right practitioner?
There are many respected practitioners who perform facial rejuvenation using non-surgical
techniques. Here are some clues which make the choice of the right practitioner
easier. The practitioners performing RESTYLANE treatments are especially selected
by Q-Med educated and trained in the procedure.
Check that the practitioner has had medically and specialist training The practitioner
must be medically qualified, e.g. a doctor, registered nurse, dentist or surgeon,
depending on local legislation. Ideally he or she should have had specialist training
in dermal filler techniques.
Reputable practitioners will offer you a consultation prior to your treatment to
discuss your requirements and expectations, your medical history, details of the
treatment and the injectable substance, clinical studies, possible side-effects,
forms of anaesthesia and so on.
Watch out for treatment parties. Treatment under the influence of alcohol and/or
peer pressure is not recommended. It is also important that the surroundings are
hygienic and comfortable for you.
The consultation should tell you whether your expectations of the treatment are
realistic. How long the effect will last, how much the treatment is going to cost
and so on. Ask to see before and after photographs.
During consultation, you should also discuss the aftercare you may need. Ask whether
written material is provided about what you can expect after treatment and about
what you can and cannot do. It is good professional practice to be offered a post-treatment
checklist and an emergency telephone number to call if needed.
